OnePlus turns to its customers to find out how to improve its OxygenOS overlay. Users have until April 30 to submit their suggestions.
Inviting users to submit suggestions for new software features is the original initiative just launched by OnePlus. The manufacturer announces IDEAS, a program which allows customers and fans of the brand to suggest possible improvements concerning OxygenOS. Rewards will be given to users who submit the ideas most appreciated by the community, reports The Verge site
To submit a suggestion, users are invited to create a OnePlus Community account and click on the “Submit an idea” button on the IDEAS project page. Users have until April 30 to submit their proposals. Ideas from the OnePlus community can be viewed at this address, with the option to “like” or leave a comment. The Always-on Display mode is currently gathering user favor.
This first campaign runs from March 5 to April 30, 2020, and includes a review and selection process. Every two weeks, OnePlus will select the five most popular ideas and rank them taking into account the total number of similar ideas that have been submitted. The OnePlus team will examine these five ideas and give their opinion while the authors will be awarded Bullets Wireless 2. If the brand decides to retain the idea, it will be proposed to the R&D team who will be responsible for integrating it in the OxygenOS overlay. The user behind the idea will be invited to the next OnePlus event.
OnePlus wants to listen to its users
“Good ideas can come from anywhere. This is why we are implementing a new way of listening to our Community – by making it easier to listen to ideas and their possible implementation. Let’s start with the software and improve OxygenOS together! ” Says OnePlus. The IDEAS project is currently focusing on the software part and the manufacturer does not seem close to the idea of listening to its users in other areas. Proposals must be formulated in English and comply with the conditions of use of OnePlus.
With this initiative, the Chinese manufacturer is trying to break new ground and bring its community to life. At the start of the year, OnePlus had already given a glimpse of its smartphone of the future by unveiling a concept phone with “invisible” cameras.
